For Action Research, we’ve been asked to create a force field analysis on a potential research project. I completed mine on an idea of enhancing professional development opportunities, both technically and pedagogically, for faculty specifically within the realm of online education. This was an excellent project to tease out stakeholders, availability of resources, incentives (or lack thereof), as well as visualize potential conflicts. Interweaving with the Design strand, it will also be interesting to think about the project within design thinking constraints as well (desirability, viability, feasibility). As I look at opposing forces, I begin to see where those fall in those three buckets.
